INTRODUCTION TO THE SEWING MACHINE & MAKE AN ENVELOPE CUSHION COVER - CHESTER WORKSHOP

FULL DAY COURSE This workshop is for complete beginners. Have you always wanted to use a sewing machine or had one sat in a cupboard but don’t know where to start? Then this workshop is for you.

This workshop will show you and advise you on the different parts of the sewing machine, how and when to change a needle, the different sewing machine feet, when to use them and how to change them. We will show you how to create the different utility stitches and the lovely decorative stitches. You will use twin needles and we will show you how to gather, how to create a button and also sew a button on with a sewing machine! You will then put all this into practice by making a decorated envelope cushion cover.

After the workshop you will have the basics to start you on your sewing journey and which you can build upon.

SHORT COURSE If you cannot make our weekend full day introduction workshop then try this short course introducing you to the sewing machine, including threading your machine, winding your bobbin, utility stitches & decorative stitches, changing needles, changing presser foot, twin needle sewing, gathering, seams, buttonholes and sewing on buttons by machine.
